Jim Keller designed Stone Creek near Makanda (1998) as one of the original Southern Illinois Trail courses. The Shawnee National Forest setting provides rugged terrain with natural rock outcroppings. Together with Kokopelli, it establishes the trail's reputation for dramatic public golf in an unexpected location.
