William J. Devine Memorial Golf Course sits within Frederick Law Olmsted's Franklin Park in Boston, Massachusetts, making it one of the rare American courses where two giants of 19th-century landscape design share the same ground. Founded in 1896, it is the second-oldest public golf course in the United States, trailing only Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. Donald Ross redesigned the course in 1922, and it is included on the Donald Ross New England Trail, a curated circuit of Ross-designed courses across Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. The course is currently undergoing a renovation led by architect Mark Mungeam. The layout plays to a par 70 at 6,013 yards across 18 holes. It is a public course in the budget price tier. Tee times are available through the City of Boston with a four-day advance booking window.
