Planning & Organizing

How do I plan next year's trip without starting from scratch?
On My Trips, open the menu on any trip card and choose Duplicate trip. Give it a new name and new dates — the destination, courses, meals, and activities all carry over. Your crew will be re-invited (old bookings and preferences don't carry forward, since airports, budgets, and availability change year to year).
Can I plan a new trip with my same group but a different destination?
Yes. On the menu of a past trip card, pick Plan with same group →. You'll start a fresh wizard for the new destination and dates, and the original trip's roster will be invited automatically once you finish. The old trip stays intact — archive it from its kebab menu if you want to tidy up My Trips.
How do I change destinations after I've already picked one?
Use Plan with same group on your My Trips page to start a fresh trip for the new destination with the same crew, then archive the old one from its menu. We don't support in-place destination swaps because changing a locked destination would delete every course, meal, and activity on the trip — rarely what people actually want.
What if I don't know my dates or destination yet?
That's the default case — start the wizard from the homepage, skip the destination step, and give a loose month window instead of specific dates. The group fills in their preferences, our algorithm recommends destinations that fit everyone, and you lock in once the shortlist lands. This is the Help us decide flow.
How do I rename a trip?
On the trip page, click the pencil icon next to the trip name in the header. Organizers only.
How do I change trip dates after the group has picked a destination?
Click the edit icon next to the dates in the trip header. If you shrink the window, empty days at the end are pruned automatically.
How do I archive or delete a trip?
Trips can be archived from the trip page's menu. Archived trips disappear from the default My Trips view but keep all their data — you can unarchive any time. There's no hard-delete path today; archive covers both the "cancelled" and "clean up my list" cases.

Members & Preferences

How many people can join my trip?
Up to 12 members total (including the organizer). That's where our tee-group UI, cost-split math, and hotel search assumptions all hold cleanly — beyond it, things start rendering weird. The share link stops handing out seats once you hit 12; anyone who taps it past that sees a friendly “this trip is full” state. If you've got a bigger group and can't shuffle people, email support@scrambletrip.com and we'll figure it out with you.
Where can I see everyone's preferences?
On the trip page, click the Members tab (next to Itinerary + Booking). You'll see every member's home airport, course styles, priority, handicap, must-play courses, and booking status. Individual budgets are visible only to that person and the organizer.
Can I edit my preferences after I already submitted them?
Yes. Go to the trip page (from My Trips), open the Members tab, and click Edit on your own card. If the trip is still gathering responses or computing recommendations, your edits trigger a recommendation recompute. After the algorithm has run, edits update your row silently — home airport still feeds your flight links, and must-play courses can still prompt the organizer to slot one in.
Can I remove a member from a trip?
Organizers can remove any non-organizer member from the Members tab (the Remove link on each card). Members can remove themselves with Leave. Removal is blocked once the trip is past building status — contact us if you need help after that.
What if someone doesn't respond to their invite?
On the Memberstab, any invited member who hasn't submitted preferences shows as Waiting. Organizers can click Remind to nudge them with an email, or click Resendon a pending invite row if the original got lost. If someone's clearly not coming, remove them so they don't count against quorum for recommendations.

Bookings & Payment

Is Scramble free to use?
Yes. Scramble is completely free — no trial, no paywall, no upsell. We earn affiliate commissions from providers (Marriott, Delta, Hertz, etc.) when you book through links on your trip, at no extra cost to you. See About for the full model.
Do I book and pay through Scramble?
No — Scramble is a planning tool, not a booking engine. Every hotel, flight, and car-rental link sends you to the provider's own site with your dates and destination pre-filled, so you keep your loyalty status and book on the chain's terms. If you book through one of our links, we earn a small affiliate commission. See About for the full model.
After I book, how does Scramble know?
Fastest path: click + Upload bookingin the trip sidebar and drop in the confirmation email or PDF (one file can contain multiple bookings). We'll extract dates, airline/hotel, and confirmation numbers, and add the block to your itinerary for you — no need to create a block first. You can also click Mark as booked on an existing card and enter the details by hand.
Are the green-fee estimates accurate?
We use peak-season green fees from each course when we have them, and fall back to a price-band midpoint when we don't. Estimates shift to actuals once you lock a tee time with the real cost on the course card.

Account

How do I change my password?
Settings → Account. Only available for email-signup accounts; Google/Apple users manage their password with the provider.

Need help?

I've hit a bug or have a question — how do I reach you?
Email support@scrambletrip.com. We read everything. Include your trip name (or ID from the URL) if it's trip-specific — makes it much faster to help.
My hotel / flight / car rental has a problem — can you fix it?
Scramble is a planning tool, not a booking agent. Any issue with a reservation — wrong dates, rate disputes, cancellations, refunds, loyalty-point credits — has to go through the provider directly (Marriott, Delta, Hertz, etc.). We don't have visibility into your account there, and we can't modify bookings on your behalf. If you want us to update what Scramble shows for a booking (e.g., a corrected confirmation number after the provider fixes things), email us and we'll sort it.
A course cancelled my tee time or I need to re-book — what now?
Contact the course directly — they control their tee sheet, pricing, and cancellation policy. Once you have a new time or a refund sorted, the organizer can update the course block on the trip page (course edits are organizer-only). Forward the new confirmation to the organizer, or email us at support@scrambletrip.com if you're stuck.
