Miami Beach Golf Club sits in the heart of Miami Beach, Florida, a public course operating on land with nearly a century of history behind it. The original layout opened January 10, 1923 as Carl Fisher's Bay Shore Golf Course, designed by Willie Park Jr. and conceived as a collection of replications of celebrated Scottish and American holes. Gene Sarazen played the opening exhibition. During World War II, the U.S. Army leased the property for $1 per year and used it as a training ground. In 2002, Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest led a $10 million renovation styled around the Art Deco architecture of the surrounding South Beach neighborhood, producing the modern Miami Beach Golf Club. The course plays to a par 72 at approximately 6,700 yards across 18 holes and is part of the Florida Historic Golf Trail. Public access, mid-range pricing ($$).
