Pete Dye designed the River Course at Blackwolf Run in 1990, routed along a glacial river basin. It plays 7,404 yards at par 72, a muscular Dye design with stacked-sod bunkering, severe green complexes, and the Sheboygan River in play on multiple holes. Blackwolf Run earned Best New Public Course from Golf Digest at its opening. Both the River and the Meadow Valleys courses hold Golf Digest's 5-Star ranking in Best Places to Play. The River has consistently appeared on Golf Magazine's Top 100 You Can Play and Golf Digest's America's 100 Greatest, peaking at #14 on Golf Digest's America's 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses in 2013-14. It currently holds #128 on the magazine's Second 100 Courses list. Blackwolf Run hosted the U.S. Women's Open in 1998 (Se Ri Pak's famous extended-playoff win over Jenny Chuasiriporn) and 2012 (Na Yeon Choi). Those championships used the original Championship Course, which combines holes from the Meadow Valleys and River layouts.
Winter Park Golf Course's peak-season green fee is around $395 per round; off-peak rates drop to about $22. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Florida Historic Golf Trail trip cost
