About

River Club is a public-access course on the Hammock Coast Golf Trail, situated just inland from Pawleys Island, South Carolina, on a former rice plantation. Tom Jackson designed the layout, which opened in 1985. The course plays to par 72 at 6,677 yards across 18 holes and carries a mid-range ($$) price point. Water comes into play on 14 of the 18 holes, and the course features more than 100 bunkers. The back-nine finish draws particular attention: the par-3 16th plays entirely over water, and the par-5 18th presents a risk-reward closing hole.
