About Hot Springs Country Club - Arlington Course

William Diddel's Arlington Course debuted in 1930, a Golden Age inland layout across undulating Ouachita terrain at Hot Springs Country Club, with a Coore & Crenshaw mid-1990s renovation that modernized bunker work without rewriting Diddel's routing. The Arlington plays 6,646 yards to par 72 across steep narrow Bermuda fairways with undulating bent-grass greens. The opening par-4 is the stock opener you want, tough dogleg left, stroke index #1. The second is a tricky downhill par-3 and the third a short strategic par-4, both Diddel signatures that reward placement over length. Elevation change, mature trees, and green positioning define the test. A former PGA Tour stop in the 1950s, the Hot Springs Open hosted Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, and Cary Middlecoff before the course settled into its current role as a US Open qualifier venue and the flagship round on Arkansas's Natural State Golf Trail. Pair with the Park Course for 36 at Hot Springs CC.
