John Fought designed the Players Course at Indian Wells in 2007, drawing inspiration from Riviera and Winged Foot — classic American architecture transplanted to the Coachella Valley. A $13 million renovation completed in late 2025 rerouted the finishing holes and converted the layout from par-72 to par-71, with the new 17th modeled after Riviera's 4th. The Players is the more strategic and architecturally interesting of the two Indian Wells courses, and at municipal pricing it's one of the better values in the Palm Springs corridor.
