Pine Lakes at Jekyll Island, originally a Dick Wilson/Joe Lee design that opened in 1968 (the trio of Jekyll courses Wilson and Lee developed together), completely renovated in 2002 by Clyde Johnston, and refreshed again in 2024 with new tees, fairways, greens, and bunkers. DB field crediting Johnston alone understates the routing's Wilson/Lee origins. Johnston's 2002 renovation notably incorporated 'Family Friendly' tee boxes, making Pine Lakes one of the only courses in America that allows players of all ages and abilities to compete evenly, a design choice that reflects Jekyll's orientation as a family-vacation destination rather than a championship test. The par-5 11th is a memorable risk-reward; the par-4 17th is well-defended by sand and water long; the par-4 18th closes with genuine length. The most family-friendly of Jekyll Island's three courses. Paired with Oleander (toughest) and Indian Mound (most open) for a 54-hole Jekyll weekend at coastal-Georgia value prices.
Jekyll Island - Pine Lakes Course's peak-season green fee is around $70 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Jekyll Island trip cost
