About Red Hawk Golf and Resort - Lakes Course

Robert Trent Jones Jr.'s 1997 Lakes Course at Red Hawk, the open public layout of a two-course facility in Sparks (the Hills Course is private). Opening the Lakes marked what LINKS Magazine called 'the zenith of a decade-long golf boom in northern Nevada' and vaulted Reno and the High Sierra into the upper echelon of West Coast public golf destinations. The Lakes plays 7,140 yards at par 72 with more than 100 bunkers, bentgrass greens, and water in play across the lower-elevation routing (Hills plays up-and-down, Lakes is the flatter water-heavy twin). The signature is the par-3 17th, a long carry over water with the back-tee version pushing it into heroic territory. The par-5 16th is guarded by wetlands and the approach has to thread between hazards to a small green. Host of the 2023 Junior America's Cup, one of junior golf's premier international team events. Now Troon-managed and a staple of any Reno-Tahoe golf itinerary; pair with Edgewood Tahoe South or Genoa Lakes for a full Sierra golf week.
