River Bend Links

Clyde Johnston's 1998 River Bend Links, the only true Scottish links-style course in the mid-South, built through an unusual alliance of three Tunica casinos (Resorts, Hollywood, and Sam's Town). Johnston famously described his transformation of the property as turning a cotton field into 'a field of dunes,' and the routing delivers the promise. The 6,900-yard par-72 layout is defined by links-native features: lakes, sand, grass bunkers, and strategically placed mounds. Water features incorporate cleverly across many holes without feeling unfair, the kind of links-style water management that rewards strategic drives over heroic carries. Conditioning is maintained with pride and the setting is notably tranquil for a casino-adjacent course. A rare mid-South links experience and one of the most distinctive Tunica rounds.
