Stone Canyon Golf Club

Stone Canyon Golf Club in Blue Springs is the only Greg Norman Signature Design course in the Midwest, carved through a dramatic limestone quarry setting about 20 miles east of Kansas City. The 7,131-yard par-72 layout plays to a 73.0 rating and 141 slope from the tips, with rock walls and stone outcroppings integrated directly into the design. Norman's signature traits, closely mown green surrounds, creative bunkering, and landscape accents that work with the terrain rather than against it, all show up here. The par-4 3rd is the course's calling-card hole: a 381-yard approach that concludes with a green tucked into a natural amphitheater of rocks. Beyond the drama of the setting, the real test is negotiating the elevation changes and varied green complexes that make Stone Canyon a repeat-play course rather than a one-and-done scenic tour. The course opened in 2009 and earned quick recognition from Golf Magazine as one of the Best New Courses You Can Play that year, followed by a Top 3 Best Public Courses in Missouri nod in 2012.
