Purdue's home course, originally a William Diddel 1934 design, then torn down and reimagined by Pete Dye in 2015-16 as part of a full rebuild of the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. The Ackerman-Allen is one of the final courses Dye personally designed before his death, which puts it on a short list of late-career Dye originals. Dye extended the championship tees from 6,400 to 7,500 yards, added two new holes, and retained the parkland-style character while layering in his trademark elements: chipping areas, railroad ties, sneaky greens with deceptive contour. The course plays as a 'fair Dye', more strategic than penal, with large bent-grass greens and fairways, white sand bunkers, and minimal water. Ranked in Golf Digest's Top 25 College Courses in America. A must-play on the Pete Dye Trail and a legitimate reason to make the drive to West Lafayette for Purdue football weekends.
Birck Boilermaker - Ackerman-Allen Course's peak-season green fee is around $115 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Pete Dye Trail trip cost
