On the Lincoln-family farmland in Springfield, President Abraham Lincoln's grandfather settled here in 1781-82 after the Revolutionary War; the original Francis Berry House (where Nancy Hanks was working as a seamstress while being courted by Thomas Lincoln) still stands inside the park. The 18-hole course was designed by Perry Maxwell and his son J. Press Maxwell, both ASGCA members, opened 1957. Perry Maxwell is a giant of golden-age architecture (Southern Hills, Prairie Dunes, Crystal Downs). Bermuda fairways, bentgrass greens, four tee sets, takes advantage of the natural rolling Central Kentucky terrain. Green fees ~$42, one of the best architectural-pedigree-per-dollar buys on the Bourbon Trail. 25 minutes east of Bardstown. NOTE: DB designer attribution "Kentucky State Parks (regional)" undersells the architecture significantly. Per Kentucky State Parks own materials, the architects were Perry Maxwell + J. Press Maxwell, ASGCA. Worth a manual designer correction.
Bright Leaf Golf Resort's peak-season green fee is around $32 per round; off-peak rates drop to about $22. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Kentucky Bourbon Golf Trail trip cost
