The Senator Course opened in 1999 at Capitol Hill, part of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail's Prattville site โ three 18-hole championship layouts 13 miles north of Montgomery, Alabama. Roger Rulewich handled the lead design under Jones Sr.'s direction. Where its sibling Judge Course throws 200+ feet of elevation change at you, the Senator sprawls across rolling land that walks like a stadium โ wide fairways, fast greens, and enough length to host Tour events. Golf Magazine named the Senator one of the Top 10 New Courses in the nation at its opening. Golf World readers voted Capitol Hill the #2 public golf facility in the country. The course hosts the Guardian Championship (formerly Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic), making it a regular on the LPGA calendar. The Judge Course next door keeps more of the national-ranking spotlight โ #7 on Golf Digest's America's 100 Greatest Public Courses (2025-26). Together they make Capitol Hill one of the strongest public-access complexes in the country.
