CasaBlanca Golf Club in Mesquite is the on-property round at the CasaBlanca Resort & Casino, a Cal Olson design that opened in October 1996 (construction began November 1995) and sits etched into the wetlands of the picturesque Mesquite Valley along the Virgin River. CasaBlanca was originally built by Merv Griffin in the early 1990s as an amenity to Players Island Casino (now the CasaBlanca Hotel Casino), which gives the course a genuinely unusual Hollywood-financier origin story among desert-public courses. Cal Olson's routing stretches 7,036 yards across 18 distinctive holes that wind in and out of the Virgin River basin, lush emerald fairways through wetland transitions, desert wildflowers accenting the rye-grass fairway corridors, bent-grass greens, white-sand bunkers, and sparkling lakes woven into the strategic picture. That water-forward, wetland-routed design voice is unusual for a Mojave-desert course and gives CasaBlanca a playing experience closer to a Colorado River valley track than a Wolf Creek / Falcon Ridge style Mesquite canyon course.
