Denis Griffiths's 1989 championship layout at Château Élan, the original course at the Braselton wine-resort estate north of Atlanta, now the centerpiece of one of Georgia's most celebrated public golf destinations. Griffiths returned in 2016 for a touch-up that modernized conditioning without rewriting the routing. The Château Course plays 7,030 yards to par 71 with contoured Bermuda fairways, bent-grass greens, three lakes, and two winding streams. Water touches ten holes; 87 strategically placed bunkers fill in the rest. The test is driving accuracy, canted tree-lined fairways make the club off the tee more decision than default. One of the cleaner examples of 'Atlanta parkland championship golf' in the public portfolio. A staple of the Atlanta golf rotation since opening and part of a 63-hole Troon-managed resort complex that includes The Legends (private) and a nine-hole Par 3. Pair the Château with the Woodlands for 36 at Château Élan.
