Eagle Ridge at Yatesville Lake State Park

Eagle Ridge at Yatesville Lake State Park is an Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest design in Louisa, Kentucky, part of the Kentucky State Parks Golf Trail. Opened in 2003, Hills and Forrest routed 18 championship holes across dramatic eastern Kentucky terrain, using significant elevation changes to create real mountain-golf character unusual for a state-park facility. At 6,630 yards par 71 with a 70.0 rating and 113 slope, Eagle Ridge plays more moderately than its terrain might suggest, but the layout defends itself through green complexes and approach angles rather than length. The signature hole is the short par-4 13th, where a split fairway delivers options off the tee, with the green waiting more than 200 feet below the tee box at the end of the cut. It's the kind of hole golfers talk about long after the round; some local writers have described Eagle Ridge as 'the scariest golf course in Kentucky.' Golf Advisor ranked Eagle Ridge #3 in Kentucky (2017) and it has continued to appear in the state Top 25 (#20 in 2022).
