Fields Ranch East at Omni PGA Frisco is Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner's 2022 anchor course at the PGA of America's new headquarters in Frisco, Texas, and it's already a three-major venue. The PGA of America chose Hanse specifically for the links-inspired brief: wide fairways, strategic bunkering, firm-and-fast playing conditions, and a caddie-forward walking-only culture that's unusual in North Texas resort golf. The course is designed to stage championships while remaining accessible to daily-fee guests the rest of the year. Hanse routed the course across 250 acres of rolling prairie, using the natural grade to create strategic options off the tee, aggressive lines over bunkers shorten approaches; conservative plays leave longer shots to compact, demanding green complexes. The greens are the course's primary defense at the championship level; in resort play, wider fairways and multiple teeing grounds keep the layout within reach of mid-handicaps. Wind is a constant factor, no tree cover on most holes means afternoon rounds play measurably different from morning tee times. Fields Ranch East hosted the 2023 Senior PGA Championship (Steve Stricker win), the 2025 KPMG Women's PGA Championship (Minjee Lee win), and will host the 2027 PGA Championship, the first men's major in Dallas-Fort Worth in over 60 years.
