Fox Hollow Golf Club in Trinity, Florida, just north of Tampa, opened in 1994 as one of the final completed designs of Robert Trent Jones Sr., who died five years later. The par-71 layout is a textbook late-career RTJ: rolling fairways (a genuine departure from the pancake-flat Florida standard), penal and plentiful bunkering, and water in play on 11 of the 18 holes. Greens are Sea Dwarf Paspalum, which hold firm-fast conditions year-round better than the bermuda of its West Florida neighbors. The 18th hole has been called the "Best Par 4 in Florida" by Central Florida Magazine, and the course as a whole was named by the Tampa Tribune as one of the top three public-access courses in all of west central Florida. Fox Hollow has since transitioned to semi-private status but remains accessible to visiting golfers through its daily-fee program, an essential RTJ Sr. experience for any Tampa Bay golf trip.
Fox Hollow Golf Club's peak-season green fee is around $85 per round; off-peak rates drop to about $78. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Tampa Bay trip cost
