Bobby Weed designed TPC Tampa Bay in 1991 with consultation from Chi-Chi Rodriguez, building it as a PGA Tour-owned resort course in Lutz north of downtown Tampa. The course winds through natural wetlands, cypress heads, and lagoons — design elements rarely combined in a single Florida resort routing. TPC Tampa Bay has hosted 21 consecutive Champions Tour events (formerly the Outback Pro-Am, now the Chubb Classic). Golf Digest awards it 4½ stars and Florida Golf Magazine has named it among the top five courses in Florida. Semi-private access via TPC's Member-and-Guest network plus resort guest play. Premium-resort pricing in the $$$ band — fits the typical TPC-network pricing formula. As a Tampa Bay option, this is the Tour-pedigree alternative to Innisbrook's Copperhead and Island courses.
