Genoa Lakes - Lakes Course

PGA Tour winner Peter Jacobsen and John Harbottle III co-designed Genoa Lakes Golf Club's Lakes Course, which opened in 1993 in Genoa, Nevada, the Lake Tahoe area's oldest town (Nevada's first settlement, 1851) at the base of the Sierra Nevada. 7,263 yards par-72 with lush wetlands and the winding Carson River bringing water into 14 of the 18 holes. The course is part of a two-course complex (with the Ranch Course, also Jacobsen/Harbottle, two miles away). Lakes is the more water-centric of the two, with strategic bunkering and tree-lined fairways in the flatter wetland sections before the course climbs into the foothills for the closing holes. Peak green fee runs $95-175 depending on season. Fits a Lake Tahoe trip as the 'drive off-mountain for the Carson Valley card' round paired with Edgewood Tahoe and Incline Village for a multi-sided Lake Tahoe itinerary.
