GlenRiddle - Man O'War Course

GlenRiddle's Man O'War, opened in 2003 (Joel Weiman / McDonald Design Group) on the site of an old racetrack where actual champion thoroughbred Man O'War was trained. Part of the original racetrack is preserved as a strategic cross-hazard that comes into play on three holes, a use of historical infrastructure that's unique in American public golf. The 7,163-yard par-72 routing plays as pure windswept links with the challenges familiar from the British Isles: large greens, double fairways, pot bunkers, sand dunes, and ever-present Eastern Shore winds. One par-3 over water (played usually into the wind) gets called out as the course's visual signature. Conditioning is consistently among the best in Ocean City, reviewers routinely cite it as the best fairways in the OC area. The crown jewel of the Eastern Shore and the clubhouse of choice for Ocean City golf-trip reviewers, often picked as the top round on any Ocean City three- or four-course itinerary.
