Hidden-gem state-park course 45 minutes west of Nashville in Burns. Park itself was built during the Great Depression by the WPA + Civilian Conservation Corps as a Recreational Demonstration Area, named for iron industrialist Montgomery Bell. The original 1973 routing was redesigned by Gary Roger Baird in 1988. Heavily wooded, with deer, geese, and wild turkey throughout the routing. Hole #2, a 446-yard par-5, is the signature. Each spring the course hosts the Dogwood Classic, traditionally the opening event of the Tennessee tournament season. On-park lodge with 117 rooms makes Montgomery Bell a single-base option for a Nashville-side mini-trip.
Glenwood Country Club & Lodge's peak-season green fee is around $55 per round; off-peak rates drop to about $35. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Arkansas Natural State Trail trip cost
