Jacaranda Golf Club

Jacaranda Golf Club in Plantation, Florida (15 minutes west of Fort Lauderdale) is a 36-hole facility with two equally enjoyable championship courses both originally designed by Mark and Charles Mahannah. The East Course opened in 1970 and the West Course in 1971, with Mark Mahannah ASGCA as the principal architect. In 2006, Bobby Weed led a comprehensive redesign of the East Course to modernize the routing for contemporary play; the West Course retains more of the Mahannah original voice. The 6,729-yard West Course plays par-72 through distinctive tropical landscape, swaying palms, blue lagoons, tranquil ponds, and the kind of mature South Florida canopy that newer suburban-sprawl courses just don't have. Peak green fee runs $55-95 depending on course and season. Fits a Miami/Fort Lauderdale trip as the 36-hole value-play destination, a full day of two different courses at a single facility for less than one premium resort round.
