Lake Chelan Golf Course

Lake Chelan Golf Course is the original 18-hole public layout in the Lake Chelan Valley, perched on a small plateau overlooking the lower end of the lake and the city of Chelan itself. Operated as a municipal course since the mid-1960s (sources vary on the exact year, 1964 or 1970), the 6,440-yard par-72 course plays to a gentle 70.3 rating and 119 slope. Bermuda grass fairways and well-maintained greens anchor what is otherwise a workmanlike tree-lined parkland routing. The real draw is the setting. Lake Chelan stretches out below with the Cascade Mountains framing the backdrop, and the elevated tee boxes on the front nine deliver postcard views on nearly every swing. It's the casual-round pick for a Gamble Sands trip, the rate is a fraction of Bear Mountain Ranch next door, the pace is relaxed, and it's an easy walking loop when you want to stretch the legs between the more demanding rounds at Gamble Sands proper and Alta Lake. A quintessential vacation-town muni in one of Washington's prettiest valleys.
