Lake Morey Country Club

Lake Morey Country Club in Fairlee, Vermont, has been in continuous operation since 1929, when Wayne Stiles laid out what remains one of New England's most historic public resort courses. A 1989 redesign refined Stiles's original routing into the current par-70, 6,024-yard layout, which manages to feel both classic and intimate, sand traps and small well-guarded greens demand accuracy over distance, with a relatively flat front nine transitioning to a more mountainous back nine that delivers the postcard views the Upper Valley is known for. The course sits at the base of Lake Morey itself, part of the Lake Morey Resort complex, and has hosted the Vermont Open for over 50 consecutive years, a streak that makes it arguably the most significant competitive venue in the state.
