Pete Dye's original Paiute layout, opened in 1995, the course that put this tribal-owned resort on the golf-destination map 45 minutes northwest of the Strip. Snow Mountain plays 7,146 yards par-72 with bentgrass greens, rye fairways, and Dye's signature railroad-tie bunkering scattered through high-desert terrain. Water threatens on seven holes. The par-3 16th is the standout: a 190-200 yard tee shot across water to a peninsula green with the Sheep Mountains rising behind, consistently cited as the best par-3 on the property. The par-4 18th runs water down the entire left side tee-to-green, a dramatic closer with the Strip's skyline visible on clear days. The most accessible member of the three-course Paiute family, shorter and slightly more forgiving than Wolf, water-heavier than Sun Mountain. Often the first Paiute card a Vegas group plays.
