Jerry Pate, a U.S. Open champion and award-winning course architect, designed The Preserve in 2006, a "pure golf" par-71 layout carved from 245 pristine acres on Mississippi's Gulf Coast, surrounded by another 1,800 acres of dedicated nature preserve. Pitcher plant bogs, cypress swamps, long-leaf pine savannah, live oak groves, and native grass prairies are all integrated into the routing. Golfweek consistently ranks The Preserve the #2 golf course in Mississippi. Industry publications named it Best New Course in 2007 and 2008, and Best Courses You Can Play in 2012 and 2013. The course has been named Mississippi Gulf Coast's Best Golf Course two years running (2023, 2024). Audubon International certified it as a Silver Signature Sanctuary in 2007. For a Gulf Coast trip, this is one of the few non-casino courses that draws serious golfers to Mississippi.
The Preserve Golf Club's peak-season green fee is around $250 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Magnolia Golf Trail trip cost
