Old Brockway Golf Course in Kings Beach, California is one of the oldest continuously operating golf courses in the American West, a John Duncan Dunn design from 1924, built by Harry Comstock, that celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2024. Dunn was among the premier Scottish architects of his era (Shinnecock Hills, site of the 1995 US Open, is among his other credits), and Old Brockway preserves his pre-war design vocabulary intact: small turtle-back greens, minimal green-to-tee walking distances, and tight-knit fairways calibrated for a hickory-shaft era. The course's place in golf history is outsized for a nine-hole course at Lake Tahoe. In 1934 and 1935, Bing Crosby hosted his inaugural "Crosby Clambake" tournament here for a small purse; the event grew too large, relocated to Pebble Beach, and eventually became the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bob Hope, and President Dwight D. Eisenhower all walked Old Brockway's fairways during its mid-century heyday. Today it remains one of the oldest family-owned golf courses in North Lake Tahoe, and plays as a living museum of golden-age American golf architecture.
Old Brockway Golf Course's peak-season green fee is around $65 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Lake Tahoe trip cost
