The first state-park course built in Tennessee (1962) and the foundational course of what would become the Tennessee Golf Trail. Officially the Buford Ellington Course, named for Governor Buford Ellington who pushed state-park golf in the early 1960s. Set among lush, tall trees on the former farm of Governor Henry Horton in Chapel Hill, 50 minutes south of Nashville. Bob Cupp design, predates his Nicklaus Design partnership by nearly a decade. Stretches 7,066 yards from the championship Black Tees with a 74.0 rating and 129 slope. The trail's historical anchor; six decades of testing golfers in the rolling hills of Marshall County.
