Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw opened Sand Valley in 2017 on a central Wisconsin parcel of ancient sand dunes and jack pine barrens, the site so evoked Scottish sandbelt that the Keiser family (the Bandon Dunes founders) built their next resort around it. The course plays firm and fast with wide fairways, sandy aesthetics, and approach shots that favor the ground game. Golf Digest named Sand Valley Best New Course of 2017 at its opening, and the course debuted at #18 on the magazine's biennial America's 100 Greatest Public Courses when the 2019 rankings were released. It's remained on the list through every update since, and the resort has added four more courses (Mammoth Dunes, Sandbox, Lido, Sedge Valley) to become one of the country's top links-style complexes.
Sand Valley's peak-season green fee is around $375 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Sand Valley trip cost
