Saratoga Spa State Park Golf Course

Saratoga Spa State Park Golf Course is the gem of New York State Parks' golf portfolio, a William F. Mitchell design that opened in 1960 inside the nationally-landmarked Saratoga Spa State Park complex in Saratoga Springs, about 30 miles north of Albany. The championship 18-hole course plays to 7,078 yards par 72 with a 73.7 rating and 125 slope, and the routing weaves through historic mineral springs, hardwood forests, and the period landscape that defined the Saratoga Spa's 1930s WPA construction era. The course's legitimacy as a major public venue was sealed early: Arnold Palmer and Gary Player played a commemorative round to celebrate the course reopening after Mitchell's redesign, a ceremonial moment that drew national attention to Saratoga's state-park golf. A 9-hole scenic companion course rounds out the 27-hole state-park facility. In recent years, Jordan Golf Design has been retained for a renovation that will update the course for the next era of play.
