Hugh Wilson (the architect of Merion) laid out the Bay Course at Seaview in 1914, with Donald Ross, the legendary Scottish architect, finishing the routing the following year. The course sits on the Reeds Bay shoreline a few miles northwest of Atlantic City, and the original Wilson-Ross hallmarks remain visible: classic mounding, deep pot bunkers and high-faced sand traps, tricky seashore winds, and small greens with subtle undulations. The Bay Course has hosted the LPGA Tour's ShopRite LPGA Classic every year since 1986, making it one of the longest-tenured women's professional venues in American golf. Current rankings: #44 Best Course in New Jersey on Top100GolfCourses.com (2024), #3 Best Public Course in New Jersey by Golfweek (2024), and #158 Best Resort Course in America by Golfweek (2025). Resort-tier pricing in the $$ band, strong value for a Wilson + Ross original with continuous LPGA tournament history.
