William Flynn (the architect of Shinnecock Hills and Cherry Hills) and Howard Toomey designed the Pines Course at Seaview in 1929, with William Gordon — Flynn's longtime disciple — extending the routing in 1957 to its current 18-hole form. The course threads through New Jersey woodlands, with tight tree-lined fairways, undulating mid-sized greens, and strategically placed bunkers. The Pines is the inland counterpart to Seaview's links-style Bay Course (which hosts the LPGA's ShopRite Classic). In 2009, Seaview was honored by Golfweek as one of the Best Courses You Can Play in New Jersey and earned Golf World magazine's Readers' Choice Award. The 6,731-yard par-71 layout rates 72.1/126. As a Seaview second round, Pines is the design counterpoint to Bay — woodland strategy versus links exposure. Resort-tier pricing in the $$ band, comparable to the Bay Course rates.
