Greg Norman opened the Gold Course at Tiburón in 1998 as the centerpiece of the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples. The 7,382-yard layout uses Norman's signature wide-corridor strategy off the tee with plenty of waste-area bunkering, visually striking but genuinely playable for resort guests across handicap ranges. The course has hosted the QBE Shootout (formerly the Shark Shootout) every year since 2001, the off-season PGA Tour event Norman founded. In 2023, the PGA Tour replaced it with the Grant Thornton Invitational, a mixed PGA / LPGA team event that continues to be played at Tiburón. The combination of Norman pedigree, Ritz-Carlton infrastructure, and 25+ years of continuous Tour play puts this in Naples's top tier, premium-resort pricing applies.
