On the official Pete Dye Trail. One of Dye's earliest solo design efforts — he built the back 9 in 1963, before he was famous. Bordered by Lake Shafer in Monticello (90 min north of Indianapolis). Semi-private but accepts public play. Worth the detour for completist Dye fans tracking his evolution from this early work to French Lick decades later.
