Tournament Club of Iowa is the only Arnold Palmer signature course in Iowa, opened in 2003 across 500 acres of bluffs and ravines between Big Creek Dam and Saylorville Lake north of Des Moines. The Palmer / Ed Seay routing tips out at 7,041 yards with a 139 slope, significantly more elevation change than Iowa's reputation suggests. Golf Digest named it a Top 10 Best New Upscale Course in 2004 and put it on the publication's Best Courses in the State list every year from 2003 through 2008. State rankings have stayed remarkably stable since: 8th in 2011-12, 9th in 2013-14, and 10th from 2015-22. At an ~$80 peak rate it sits firmly in the $ to lower-$$ band, which is rare for a course with its design pedigree and ranking history. For a Des Moines or Midwest road-trip group, this is the marquee public stop.
Tournament Club of Iowa's peak-season green fee is around $85 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Des Moines trip cost
