Pete Dye designed Meadow Valleys at Blackwolf Run as the front nine of the original 1988 layout, then extended it with a newly constructed nine into a full 18 when the River Course opened (1990). Meadow Valleys plays 7,250 yards at par 72 (rating 75.1, slope 145). It's slightly softer than its sibling but still pure Pete Dye, strategic bunkering, angled tee shots, and firm fast greens. Both Meadow Valleys and River hold Golf Digest's 5-Star ranking in Best Places to Play. Meadow Valleys peaked at #57 on Golf Digest's 100 Greatest Public (2019-20) and currently ranks #92 for 2025-26. Both courses appear on Golf Magazine's Top 100 You Can Play and Golf Digest's America's 100 Greatest Public Courses. Combined, Blackwolf Run is the Dye companion to Whistling Straits, a four-round Kohler trip covers all the Pete Dye you could ever want.
Sand Valley's peak-season green fee is around $375 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Wisconsin Triangle Trail trip cost
