Avondale Golf Club in Hayden, Idaho has a layered history beginning well before the golf course existed. The land was acquired in the late 19th century by Homer B. King, who named the serene lake on the property King Lake. The iconic red barn on the premises, among the oldest structures in the Northwest, was part of the original 1905 homestead. The grounds hosted a race track in the early 20th century before golf finally arrived. Warren Cummings designed the original 12 holes that welcomed golfers in 1968; Russel L. Brown expanded the routing to a full 18 by 1971. In 1994, Rathert International Golf Design of Denver led a comprehensive master-plan renovation that added new irrigation lakes and rebuilt tees and greens. The result is a mature parkland layout with genuine local character, red-barn hole markers, generational local members, and walkable loop routing. Peak green fee runs $50-75. Fits a Coeur d'Alene trip as the 'classic Northwest muni' round between Post Falls and the premium resort stops.
Avondale Golf Course's peak-season green fee is around $75 per round; off-peak rates drop to about $28. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Coeur d'Alene trip cost
