Bandon Preserve

Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw's 2012 13-hole par-3 course at Bandon Dunes, laid atop a sand dune rolling down toward the beach, with the Pacific visible from every hole. Not a warm-up: it's a genuine short course with Coore/Crenshaw green complexes at reduced scale, routinely cited as one of the best par-3 layouts in America. Yardages range 63-150 yards; most holes call for a wedge and creative imagination around firm, tilted greens. All net proceeds fund the Bandon Dunes Charitable Foundation, which supports conservation and economic development on the Southern Oregon coast. Plays in about 90 minutes; $100 peak round.
