Capitol Hill - Legislator Course

Robert Trent Jones Sr. with Roger Rulewich opened the Legislator Course at Capitol Hill in 1999, the third of three 18-hole championship courses in Prattville, Alabama, 13 miles north of Montgomery. 7,417 yards par-72, positioned between Capitol Hill's tournament-tough Judge (7,794 yards) and the Senator (7,697 yards) as a blend of the two. The Legislator threads through pine forests and along a bluff, with holes crossing a native cypress swamp via the 'Sky Bridge' viewpoint. Green complexes carry the signature RTJ undulation and pushed-up bunkering; fairways are generous off the tee but leave you with angle-critical approaches. A standard round on the RTJ Trail at peak season runs $95 with cart, one of the best-value championship golf experiences in the country, explicitly by design. Fits an Alabama trip as the 'we want the RTJ Trail experience without spending a week on it' round at the most accessible of the three Capitol Hill sisters.
