Fuzzy Zoeller and Clyde Johnston designed Champions Pointe in Henryville, Indiana — the second of Zoeller's two southern-Indiana designs alongside Covered Bridge in nearby Sellersburg. The 18-hole par-72 layout cuts through southern Indiana terrain with multiple lakes, strategically placed bunkers, and slightly undulated greens. Zoeller earned the USGA's Bob Jones Award in 1985 for sportsmanship and character, and the Dave Marr Memorial Award in 2010. As a Louisville-area public option, Champions Pointe pairs naturally with Covered Bridge to form a Zoeller two-stop loop on a single road trip — both Kemper Sports-managed properties, both daily-fee, both designed by the only PGA Tour player who's won both the Masters and the U.S. Open as their first two majors.
