Cortez Golf Course in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, is widely regarded as the finest of the nine championship courses inside the gated community, a 1977 Ed Ault and Tom Clark co-design (renovated by Clark in 2007) that plays as one of Arkansas's top public championship-length tests. The par-72 layout measures 6,672 yards with five tee sets, and the Ouachita Mountains foothills setting gives it a shaded tree-lined character more in common with classic Pinehurst-area designs than with typical southern Arkansas courses. Cortez has been rated the 3rd best course in Arkansas by Golf Digest and is widely known as "the shot maker's course", you don't need a long drive, but accuracy at the landing area is essential. The grounds crew maintains the course in excellent year-round condition, consistently ranked as the best-conditioned among Hot Springs Village's nine courses. The Hideaway Bar & Grill and well-appointed pro shop round out the club experience. For Hot Springs Village visitors, Cortez is the must-play round.
Cortez's peak-season green fee is around $75 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Hot Springs Village AR trip cost
