About Coyote Creek Golf Club - Tournament Course

The Tournament Course at Coyote Creek Golf Club in Morgan Hill is one of Northern California's most demanding Jack Nicklaus-signature public-access tests, a 7,001-yard par-72 championship layout that Nicklaus laid out specifically with experienced golfers in mind. Coyote Creek is a rare 36-hole Nicklaus facility (paired with the Valley Course, also Nicklaus-designed), which puts it in a narrow California public-access category with Cordevalle and a very short list of other multi-course Nicklaus-signature public properties. The routing's defining features are the creeks cutting across wide fairways and the ravines and native areas flanking the landing areas and greens, a Nicklaus-signature combination of generous driving corridors with severe consequence for missed tee shots. The final four holes are the scorecard's signature stretch, highlighted by a series of lakes and two waterfalls. The 18th, widely considered the Tournament Course's signature hole, is a 433-yard par-4 bordered by lakes along the entire right side, which makes the closing approach a genuine nerve-check. Coyote Creek's Tournament Course has hosted the Nor Cal Open, the Junior Tour, and the US Am Tour as home courses, tournament-level usage that keeps conditioning and setup at a touring-pro bar. For the San Francisco Bay Area / San Jose / Silicon Valley trip visitor, Coyote Creek Tournament is the Nicklaus-pedigree championship round of the South Bay, paired naturally with Cinnabar Hills (Harbottle III 27-hole), Corica Park South (Rees Jones 2018 rebuild), and Pasatiempo (MacKenzie, 45 min south) for a four-round Bay Area architectural package.
