Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner's lone Nebraska design and Golf Digest's Best New Course of 2021. CapRock sits a few miles north of The Prairie Club outside Valentine, where chop-hill dunes brush up against the Snake River canyon, the same canyon that runs along Prairie Club's Pines course. Roughly half the holes route along the canyon rim; the other half wind through massive sand dunes. Par 71, stretching to 6,998 yards or as short as 4,981. Owned by retired surgeon and rancher Cleve Trimble, who scoped the property at the start of the millennium and brought Hanse in to find the routing. Among Sand Hills imitators it flies closest to the Coore-Crenshaw original; ranked #59 on Top 100 Golf Courses' you-can-play list and the consensus best original Hanse-Wagner design to date.
Dutch 27 at Cragun's Legacy's peak-season green fee is around $250 per round; off-peak rates drop to about $175. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Brainerd Lakes trip cost
