About Hammock Beach Resort - Conservatory Course

The Conservatory Course at Hammock Beach is Tom Watson's 7,776-yard design in Palm Coast, Florida, a deliberate British-links homage dropped into Atlantic-coastal wetlands. Watson opened it in 2005 with nods throughout to the Scottish courses that defined his career: undulating fairways, large link-style greens, and bunkering scaled bigger than typical Florida resort work. Named for the British-style glass-domed clubhouse overlooking the routing. Signature holes punctuate the round. The 8th is the photographer's hole, a picturesque island-green par-3 set among the coastal hammocks. The 18th finishes with a tee box perched nearly 200 feet up, delivering a panoramic view of the entire course before the approach into the clubhouse. Watson routed through pristine natural preserve to minimize environmental impact, a brief few Florida resort courses share. Rankings: #59 in Florida (Golf Digest 2025-26), #13 on Golf Digest's Top Public-access Courses in Every State for Florida (2025). Third on Golf Digest's America's Best New Public Courses in 2008 on debut, and selected as Editors' Choice Best Golf Resorts in Florida (2022). Pair with the resort's Ocean Course for the full Hammock Beach itinerary.
