About LPGA International - Jones Course

The Jones Course at LPGA International is Rees Jones's 1994 design on the LPGA's Daytona Beach headquarters campus, a traditional links-style layout across 7,062 yards par 72 that has served as the home of the LPGA Tour since opening. Jones routed the course around central Florida wetlands and lakes, used strategic mounding to frame landing zones, and built some of the most undulating greens in the region. The routing emphasizes width off the tee with wide fairways framed by mounding, then defends with yawning waste bunkers and natural marsh areas. The greens are where Jones puts the pressure, shallow, undulating, and quick in Florida heat. Water is integrated rather than avoidable, coming into play on about half the holes. LPGA International has hosted numerous LPGA Tour Championships over its history and continues to host the final stage of LPGA Tour Qualifying School, the tournament where the next season's LPGA cards are decided. It's the more playable of the two courses at LPGA International (the Hills Course is the shotmaker's pick). Pair the Jones Course with the Hills Course for a two-round Daytona Beach trip and a look at both sides of 1990s resort architecture.
