Jack Frost National Golf Club

Jack Frost National is Terry LaGree's 2007 design at the top of Jack Frost Mountain in Blakeslee, Pennsylvania, a ski-resort conversion into summer golf that sits at 2,000 feet in the heart of the Pocono Mountains. LaGree inherited real mountain terrain and used it: elevation drops, panoramic views, and the kind of hole-to-hole variety that flatter Poconos courses can't match. Unlike most mountain golf, Jack Frost plays user-friendly. LaGree built wide fairways, clearly identified target areas, few uneven lies, and no blind shots. The front nine is relatively level after the opening drive until the second shot on the 9th; the back nine is where the mountain character asserts itself, more elevation change and tighter corridors. At 7,256 yards par 72, the back tees are a real test, but the forward sets make it playable for groups with mixed handicaps. Jack Frost won Golfweek's Best New Course award in 2007 and has been ranked by GolfAdvisor as a top Pennsylvania course year after year: #1 in 2014, #5 in 2021, #13 in 2024. It's the most modern and arguably the most scenic round in the Poconos corridor, pair with Mount Airy or Skytop for a multi-course Pocono trip.
