Lakewood Club - Azalea Course

Lakewood Golf Club's Azalea Course sits in Point Clear on Alabama's Mobile Bay, with a design history as layered as any on the RTJ Trail, Perry Maxwell routed the original holes 1-5 and 15-18 in 1947; Ron Garl added the middle stretch (holes 6-14) in 1983 that ties the two Maxwell sequences together; and the course joined the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in 2005 as its only coastal member. Moss-draped live oaks frame nearly every fairway, ponds and lagoons thread through the inner stretch, and the closing par-4 18th plays back toward the historic Grand Hotel with Mobile Bay visible over the right-hand tree line. Bermuda greens rebuilt during the Trail integration play firm and true. Green fees around $60-90 depending on season and tee time.
